Alex Drew is a wood and metal artist who grew up in small town Maine. He graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Studio Art, and now calls Windsor, Vermont home. 1656 Because of Alex's training, and his love of the natural world, it is no surprise that his work is a combination of elegance and brutality, regularly exploring elemental finishes on refined wooden pieces. Functionality is also important in his work, feeling that hands on use will lead to stronger connection with a piece.
